Raza canina desarrollada a comienzos del s.

XIX por nobles alemanes de la corte de Weimar. Primero utilizada para la caza mayor, la raza se usó posteriormente como un perro de muestra y perro cobrador. El weimaraner es gracioso; tiene orejas colgantes, ojos azules, grises o ambarinos, y un pelaje corto, liso y brillante, de color gris ratón o gris plateado. Tiene una alzada de 58–69 cm (23–27 pulg) y pesa 32–39 kg. (70–85 lb). Se caracteriza por una postura alerta, bien equilibrada, y es apreciado como un cazador agresivo así como un buen compañero y perro guardián.
